Jason is a licensed mental health counselor dedicated to creating a safe, welcoming environment for all. Jason blends years of experience, warmth, and a strengths-based approach to help people discover growth, resilience, and new ways to care for themselves and those they love.
Jason brings over a decade of experience in community mental health to his roles as Chief Clinical Officer and ITB Director at Real Life Counseling, as well as Owner, Business Manager, and Intern Supervisor at Real Life Community Behavioral Health. A licensed mental health counselor and designated Child Mental Health Specialist in the state of Washington, Jason is known for his compassionate leadership, collaborative spirit, and commitment to developing the next generation of mental health counselors.
At the heart of Jason’s work is his dedication to creating safe, welcoming spaces for all people. He believes that everyone deserves the opportunity to be seen, heard, and supported. His counseling approach helps individuals get to know themselves more deeply, while exploring meaningful ways to cope, heal, and care for themselves and those they love. Whether working with children, adults, couples, or families, Jason leads with empathy, respect, and a strengths-based perspective.
Jason holds a Master’s in Counseling and a Master’s in Education, and he specializes in working with individuals on issues such as depression, anxiety, trauma and abuse, marital concerns, parenting, life transitions, and spiritual exploration. His therapeutic style blends cognitive and interpersonal methods with client-centered and attachment-focused approaches. He is EMDR trained and continues consultation toward full certification, integrating evidence-based practices with flexibility and insight.
As an intern supervisor, Jason is passionate about mentorship and clinical development. With advanced training in clinical supervision, he guides interns through a collaborative, structured, and supportive process. His supervision style includes case conceptualization, treatment planning, documentation coaching, ethical decision-making, and self-care strategies. Jason emphasizes modeling, role-playing, and strengths-based feedback to help interns become confident and competent clinicians.
Earlier in his career, Jason provided intensive community-based services focused on safety planning, psychiatric hospital diversion, and individualized supports for children and families with complex needs. He has a proven track record of leadership in clinical compliance, team development, and community collaboration.
Jason’s greatest strength lies in his ability to recognize the potential in others and help bring it forward—whether he’s supporting a client in crisis, mentoring a new clinician, or building systems of care that promote healing and inclusion. Through every role he holds, Jason remains grounded in compassion, professionalism, and a deep belief in human resilience.
