Real Life Counseling

Thank you for considering RLC for your mental health needs! Our team of experienced clinicians specializes in a variety of areas and offers both cash pay and insurance billing options. Whether you prefer in-office visits or virtual sessions, we’re here to support you every step of the way.

Below is a step-by-step guide to requesting services with one of our independent providers.

Getting started 

When you're ready to request services, simply click the “Request Services” button to submit a service request form. We're here to help you through the process, so don’t hesitate to reach out if you have any questions!

Once you’ve submitted a service request form.

New and Returning Clients:
Once we receive your service request form, we will match you with a provider based on your preferences, the provider's availability, and your insurance coverage.

We aim to pair everyone with a provider within 24 business hours of receiving a service request. However, this timeline may change if additional information is needed to complete your verification.

 

Once a provider has been identified:

Our providers manage their own ongoing schedules but the RLC Referrals team will contact you using the information you provided to arrange & schedule your intake (initial) appointment.

This initial contact & scheduling will occur within 24 business hours of you reaching out.

If you feel that the provider you've been paired with isn't the best fit, please let our team know, and we'll work to match you with an alternative provider.

Now you are scheduled: 

Once you’ve been scheduled with a provider, you will receive a welcome email from our Referrals & Intake Team, along with a link to create an account in our client portal. Please take a moment to read your welcome email and complete the portal registration.

Within the portal, you will find your intake paperwork, which is required to be completed prior to your intake/initial appointment.   If you have any barriers completing that prior to the appointment, please don't hesitate to reach out for support as we're happy to help. 

During care you will find the portal to be a helpful too in viewing past and future sessions, payment information and to securely receive paperwork from our admin team and your provider.

If we are unable to pair you with one of our providers: 

In the event that we are unable to meet your needs at this time, we will contact you and provide resources to other organizations.  You'll also have the option to be added to our waitlist to see if a matching provider's schedule opens (we maintain individuals on our waitlist for up to 30 days).  Additionally, you are encouraged to submit another request form after 30 days to check if our availability has changed.

Real Life Counseling may also refer you to our sister company, Real Life Community Behavioral Health.
