Brianna Recklies, Clinical Graduate Intern
Bio
I am a Master’s level counseling intern from Oregon State University’s Clinical Mental Health Counseling program, and I also have a Bachelor’s degree in English and Spanish from Oregon State University. I work with teens and adults of all genders and provide most of my services remotely, though I do offer some in-person sessions. I operate from an Adlerian and psychodynamic approach and use evidence-based interventions to support clients in reaching their goals.
I believe that all individuals are worthy of dignity and respect and that everyone is capable of change. I do not see growth as linear as the “downs” of life play an important role in our development. The foundation of my work is based on the idea that people seek meaningful connections and do the best they can in their unique circumstances. My approach is client-centered to acknowledge all aspects, past and present, of the client. I support clients in integrating all dimensions of their identities into a whole and empowered person. I believe it is important to acknowledge the diversity of experiences that each client and counselor brings into the room and I operate from the stance that the client is the expert of their own life. You are the hero of your own story, and through counseling, I will be your sidekick to help you move toward the life you want to live.
Though I am not a native to the Pacific Northwest, I have spent much of my life amongst the evergreens and mountains that make up this region. When I am not working with clients or furthering my learning, I enjoy spending time outdoors with friends and family. If I’m not outside, I’m at home working on my baking skills, playing video games, or curled up in front of the fire with a good book, my cats, and a cup of tea.
