Bio
As a clinician, I am passionate about helping you gain the tools, confidence and courage to be able to live a life more fully in line with what you value. I view counseling as a collaborative process. You are the expert on you, and we will work together to determine your goals, discover and understand what obstacles are keeping you stuck, and come up with creative solutions to heal and chart a path forward. My approach to therapy incorporates cognitive methods (exploring one’s thoughts and beliefs) through an Acceptance and Commitment Therapy (ACT) framework, learning to tolerate and manage difficult emotions and thoughts with curiosity rather than judgment. Counseling can be hard work, so it is very important to me that counseling is a safe space to explore difficult feelings. My style incorporates compassion, genuineness, curiosity and humor, in order to create a safe and hope-filled environment. I have experience working with depression, anxiety, relationship concerns, assertiveness/boundaries, grief/loss and spiritual concerns. I am especially passionate about helping people work through sexual addiction (or other compulsive behaviors) and the intersection of faith issues and mental health. I'm a Licensed Mental Health Counselor (LMHC) in the state of Washington. I completed my Master's (MA) in Counseling at Western Seminary in 2022. I'm a husband and father of 2 kiddos, and I enjoy strong coffee, nerdy books, complicated board games and endless dad jokes.
