Dr. Peterson received his Ph.D. in Counselor Education and Supervision from Adams State
university in 2023 and a Master's in Counseling from Western Seminary in 2012. He is a Licensed Professional Counselor
in Oregon, a Licensed Mental Health Counselor in Washington, a Nationally Approved Clinical Supervisor, a Board
Certified Tele-Mental Health Provider, and a Nationally Certified Counselor. He has over ten years of experience
providing individual counseling and approaches counseling from a blended focus of Acceptance and Commitment
Therapy and Solution Focused Therapy. Dr. Peterson's goal is to make every session as helpful as possible for his clients.
He has over seven years of supervisor experience and has taught in three Masters of Counseling programs since
2016. He has experience as a director of two separate universities counseling centers, community mental health
service and management, as well as in private practice. Dr. Peterson is an advocate for addressing the mental health
impacts of climate change and is very involved in service to the counseling profession.
