Bio
I developed a deep fascination with psychology at a young age, sparked by reading the DSM book, which piqued my interest in understanding the complexities of human behavior and mental health. This passion led me to pursue a formal education in both psychology and social work, with the goal of gaining the knowledge and skills needed to support individuals in overcoming challenges. My career journey began as a CNA in a psychiatric hospital, where I gained firsthand experience working with individuals facing mental health struggles. I then transitioned to a behavior therapist role, providing therapeutic support and behavioral interventions. Now, as I pursue my MSW, I am dedicated to advancing my expertise in social work, particularly in areas such as dual diagnosis, trauma-informed care, and mental health. Through my experiences, I am committed to making a meaningful difference in the lives of individuals, couples, and families facing mental health and behavioral challenges.
Areas Of Focus
As an MSW intern, my area of focus includes working with adults, individuals, groups, and couples, particularly in the context of dual diagnosis and trauma. I am dedicated to exploring the complexities of individuals who struggle with both mental health disorders and substance use, aiming to develop effective intervention strategies and support systems. My interest also extends to trauma-informed care, as I recognize its significance in the healing process for many individuals. Additionally, I am committed to utilizing tools such as the DSM to understand and diagnose a range of mental health conditions, ensuring accurate assessment and tailored treatment approaches. Through this internship, I aim to build practical skills to help individuals and groups navigate challenges, heal from trauma, and promote overall well-being.
