Bio
Born in Louisiana to a large family in 1963 where a child could get lost. Experiences from my life got me curious about human behavior so after high school, I decided to attend Dillard University where I studied Psychology. Afterwards, I enlisted in the United States Navy where I served for 22 years but never lost the passion to study human behavior so in 1998, I decided to add Chemical Dependence Counseling to my education and I became a Substance Use Disorder Professional. I have been doing Substance Use disorder Counseling for 20 years. In 2008, I attended the University of Phoenix and obtained a Master's Degree in Psychology. During the course of my experience as a substance use disorder counselor, I was introduced to family group counseling which taught me that the best outcomes to helping individuals may be best through a family system lens, so I decided to study marriage and family therapy with North Central University and during an Internship with Real life Counseling.
Areas Of Focus
Working with Individuals and Families through the Systemic Lens to aid in reconnecting to positive mental health and well- being utilizing theories including CBT, Family systems and Bowen Family Theory and a mix of other theories to help as I view therapy on an individual basis where all of our needs are different and respond differently to interventions
