Counselor

Bio

I work with individuals, adults, couples, families, and LGBTQI individuals with a variety of specialties, including: trauma, attachment, stages of life changes, identity, anxiety, depression, addiction, and sex-related topics. My path into counseling began as a grade school teacher. I found passion in working with the students and their families when they would confide in me about the struggles in their personal lives. I found, as a teacher, that just being able to come alongside others in their journey was a powerful experience. This led me back to school to pursue a degree in counseling with a concentration in couples and family therapy. During my career, I’ve worked in an intensive community-based outpatient program for families and children. This work included some of the most dire of circumstances: youth experiencing suicidal and homicidal thoughts, aggression in school and at home, families with limited resources facing potential housing displacement and other barriers to meeting their primary needs, and family generational trauma. I have also worked with youth experiencing homelessness and in qn addictions facility where I worked with the patients and their families to reconnect and heal from addiction.

I focus on the interconnectedness of the systems that surround us and believe that change comes from not only working with the individual but working in the context of the greater systems that individual is a part of. My approach stems from a humanistic foundation; simply put- if I can just be authentic with you in the room, that will create the greatest foundation for therapy. My hope is to help you have a better understanding of yourself, your relationships, your family, and your world so that you will be better equipped and more confident in navigating your life.

I work with individuals, adults, couples, families, and LGBTQI individuals with a variety of specialties, including: trauma, attachment, stages of life changes, identity, anxiety, depression, addiction, and sex-related topics.

I recognize that you have a choice in coming to therapy and which therapist you come to. It is an honor that you choose to come into my office to share your most vulnerable self and I strive to be my most authentic, present, and compassionate self while I’m with you.

I am originally from Colorado and moved to the PNW  5 years ago. I love activities that get me outside, such playing pickup sports, bicycling, hiking, and snowboarding and have hiked the Colorado Trail and bicycled across the country on the TransAmerica Bicycle Trail.  I also have a passion for nurturing indoor plants and enjoy spending time with family and friends.
