Find Counselors by Location

We work to accommodate location/counselor requests and recognize the preference of those.  In situations where a location or counselor may be full, we may offer an alternative option with another location/counselor that you are welcome to accept or decline.

Bio

David’s greatest life satisfaction is bringing peace into the lives of others. His passion is helping clients find meaningful change, deeper healing, and greater purpose in their lives. David prioritizes respect, empathy, compassion, connection, understanding, and the importance of a safe environment for his therapy work. He believes that employing these principles, in a facilitating and collaborative approach with his clients, gives the opportunity for individuals and relationships to heal and grow as they embark on their path toward improved mental health and wellbeing.

Utilizing his expertise, David utilizes motivational interviewing as part of his person-centered approach. His focus is to help individuals and families who are searching for relief and improvement in their lives by helping them conquer the obstacles caused by conflict, depression, anxiety, and trauma. Following his licensure, he plans to become EMDR and DBT certified, enabling him to greater serve those who live with PTSD, Anxiety-Panic Attacks, Depression, Grief/Loss, Abuse and or other Traumatic Incidents.

In previous work, David founded and ran multiple businesses where he rebuilt homes and improved neighborhoods. To more directly rebuild and improve lives, David worked as a case manager at Catholic Community Services with children and adolescents with mental health challenges and traumatic experiences in 2012-2013. Also, David worked as a community resource coordinator, spiritual minister, and 12-step addiction recovery group leader to needy families in Denver, Colorado from 2003-2005.

In 2007, David received his Associate of Arts with a focus on Psychology. In 2011, he graduated with a Bachelor of Science in Psychology from Brigham Young University. David will graduate with his Master of Arts in Clinical Mental Health Counseling from the University of the Cumberlands in 2026. In his free time, David loves spending time with his family, including hiking, mountain biking, landscaping, working on their hobby farm together, and teaching provident living. He loves to learn, travel, and serve his church and community.
