Bio

I'm a Master’s level counseling intern from Oregon State University’s Clinical Mental Health Counseling program, and I also have a Master’s degree in Psychology from the University of West Florida. I work remotely with a variety of individual clients who reside in the State of Washington. In counseling, I strive to assist clients heal, grow, achieve their goals, and live their best life through the appropriate use of assessment, diagnosis, and evidence-based techniques and strategies.
I respect the dignity, diversity, and worth of every person. I bring a variety of approaches to mental health practice, depending on the needs and preferences of the client, provided they are within the scope of my training. I am committed to assisting the individual in achieving their goals in therapy, and I see myself as collaborative in helping a client find meaning and purpose in their life. I hope to work with clients with varying levels of life stage or emotional problems, which sometimes manifest themselves in symptoms of anxiety and depression.
Like most counselors today, I counsel from an eclectic orientation, taking advantage of the best techniques from a wide variety of counseling theories. That said, the theories of counseling that I most closely relate to and draw from most frequently are Rational Emotive Behavior Theory (REBT) and Solution Focused Brief Therapy (SFBT). Both approaches are well-documented modalities oriented toward helping people meet their therapy goals in an effective and efficient manner, and to learn techniques that they can carry with them after counseling ends in order to live a joyful life. I also see great value in assisting people in navigating and answering for themselves deeper, and sometimes spiritual questions, such as "What is my purpose in life?" As my client, we can discuss which strategy, emphasis and approach you believe will be most effective for you.
