Bio

Chris has his Master of Arts in Counseling (MAC) from the CACREP accredited counseling program at Western Seminary (2019) in Portland, OR and is a Licensed Mental Health Counselor (LMHC) in Washington State. He is also registered with the National Board of Certified Counselors (NBCC) as a National Certified Counselor (NCC) and is recognized by the State of Washington as a Mental Health Professional (MHP). He has a previous career in pastoral ministry (with a Bachelors Degree in Theology) along with a personal
experience in helping others with their mental health that spans two decades. He also has over 5 years experience working with youth and families in mental health crisis in Clark County. He served as both a clinician and clinical supervisor with Catholic Community Services in their WISe program (Wrap Around with Intensive Services), which provided community based stabilization services to youth and their families who were experiencing a mental health related crisis. It was also during this time that Chris has had extensive experience in working with youth with Autism Spectrum Disorder. Chris is also has extensive experience in case management and coordination with various community partners throughout Clark County. As a counselor, my biggest heart is helping people. Regardless of background, pathway or experiences, as a
counselor, it is my goal to partner and collaborate with each person I work with in finding their way forward.I believe strongly in the strengths of those I engage with and approach all counseling with unconditional positive regard. Mental health is not just something for us to manage when we are struggling, but is anongoing and focused care. I personally count it a privilege to work in the field of counseling and mental health and have a passion for helping those who may find themselves in need of some temporary or long term support. I work with individuals, families and couples/marrieds. In counseling sessions with me, you can expect a collaborative approach in identifying what your goals are in counseling, how best you feel they can be approached and fulfilled, how your own personal values and strengths play into treatment and a transparent and genuine engagement from myself in the process. I
utilize a person centered therapy approach in all sessions, while integrating tools and techniques that are primarily individualized to each client and client need. Mental Health, to me, is not so much a destination as it is an identified way of managing it. I also seek to provide education & empowerment in managing mental health symptoms, improve important relationships and improve an individual's quality of life.
