Bio
“Breathe, darling. This is just a chapter. It’s not your whole story.” -S.C. Lourie
My Philosophy - When life’s transitions, cliff-hangers, and story arcs take a turn that fill us with anxiety, struggle, sadness, and the unexpected, it’s natural to feel as if it’s “always going to be this way.” I want to work with you to understand the intricate balance that is our thoughts, emotions, and feelings and how we can create tools for you to take control and create action to turn the page into a new chapter. I am honored to be a counselor and to be invited to join my clients in their most challenging times. I strive to create an empathic, safe, and peaceful environment during every session. My ultimate goal is to work with each client, meeting them where they’re at, to create change from a place of love, healing, empowerment, strength, resiliency, self-compassion, and clarity.
Techniques and Approaches - My work is integrative and includes techniques and approaches from Cognitive Behavior Therapy (CBT), Mindfulness -Based Cognitive Therapy (MBCT), Narrative therapy, Strengths-based therapy, and Solutions-Focused Brief Therapy (SFBT).
A Little About Me - I am a wife to my best friend, a mother of twin boys, and the owner of an exuberantly sweet chocolate lab. I’ve always had an insatiable interest in people and their stories, as well as understanding my own. This leads me to constantly absorb anything I can about the human experience and never quite turn my mind off of wondering about the stories we’re all living and writing. That said, I love to read! I also love traveling abroad, watching my boys play sports, fishing with my husband, spending time with friends and family, and training for triathlons.
