Bio
Welcome - I am so glad you’re here. I believe that every person who walks through my door carries a story worth understanding. My approach to therapy is based on the belief that healing happens in relationships. When we feel understood and supported, we experience the kind of genuine human connection that makes it safe to finally say the things that have been hardest to say out loud. I believe you already have wisdom within you, and I’m not here to tell you what to do—but to support you in discovering your own path at a pace that feels right for you. I'm committed to understanding how culture, identity, and life experiences shape who we are, and I continue to reflect on my own growth so I can be fully present and responsible in this work.
I hold a Master's in Counseling Psychology from The Seattle School of Theology and Psychology and am an Associate Licensed Clinician. My approach is grounded in psychodynamic theory, which simply means that I believe our present struggles are rarely random — they are often connected to earlier experiences, relationships, and ways of making sense of the world that developed long before we were aware of them. Rather than focusing only on symptoms or surface-level solutions, I am interested in helping you understand the deeper currents beneath what you are experiencing, so that real and lasting change becomes possible. I also draw on client-centered, CBT-informed, and DBT-informed approaches, which means our work together will be tailored to what you need — not a one-size-fits-all formula.
One of the things I feel passionate about is the use of expressive therapies in my work. I believe that words are only one way of telling our stories, and that creativity — through art, movement, imagery, and play — can open doors that traditional talk therapy sometimes cannot. This is especially meaningful in my work with children and adolescents, for whom expressive modalities offer a natural and developmentally attuned way to process, communicate, and heal. That said, creativity finds its way into my work with adults too, and I welcome whatever form of expression feels most authentic to you.
Outside of the therapy room, I am a wife and mom of two. Most of my time is spent chasing my kids, curled up with a good book and cup of coffee, or out on a wooded trail somewhere — I will take any excuse to get among the trees.
