Bio

As a kid, I was the one friends turned to when they needed to talk. I didn't realize then that my natural inclination for listening would become my life’s work. My path wasn't a straight line; I pivoted from a corporate sales track into substance use counseling after an aqcuatinance noticed my potential, suggesting a career in counseling.

My initial start in counseling included Spanish-language outreach and a government fellowship for substance use prevention. Since then, I’ve managed multicultural non-profit programs, earned my Master’s in Counseling Psychology from Northwest University, and served as a lead inpatient therapist for adults with complex co occurring diagnoses.

I prefer a more eclectic, empowering, and human approach to counseling and I don’t believe in a one-size-fits-all approach. I am experienced in both supporting individuals thru crisis while also integrating the specific treatment goals that incorporate the entire picture of mental health needs.  In sessions, I draw upon a host of different approaches such as EMDR & CPT, Talk Therapy (for those who need a collaborative space to "talk it out") with specialized focuses on neurodivergent categories such as Autism or ADHD.  Along with supporting mental health needs, I am also able to integrate substance use recovery treatment.

If you are wondering what to expect in counseling with me, it includes empowering conversation, some coaching or challenging, and occasionally even fun. I can be "Coach Adam" when you need a push, or a steady presence when you need to navigate grief. I will offer my clinical opinion & insight, but recognize that you are the expert on yourself.  Together, we collaboratively identify the best path forward, ensuring you feel safe, heard, and respected every step of the way.

Outside of work, you can find me hiking, exploring the water, or immersed in a game—whether it’s digital, tabletop, or a classic D&D session, while enjoying the adventure of the Pacific Northwest.
