I believe the foundation of the healing process is by building a strong therapeutic relationship with my clients. Regardless of what my client says or does, I provide comfort and acceptance so they may feel free to express their thoughts and feelings without judgment or evaluation – this is also what I practice in my personal life – none of us are just alike. I strive to gain the knowledge of what my clients really want and need so therapy will be most effective.
I have a Bachelor of Arts in Psychology and a Master of Science in Clinical Mental Health Counseling from the University of Texas at San Antonio – CACREP (Council for Accreditation of Counseling and Related Educational Programs). I am a National Certified Counselor and a member of the Chi Sigma Iota which is the international honor society for counseling students, counselor educators, and professional counselors.
With 9 years of experience and training, I primarily work with couples, families, individual adults, adolescents, and seniors. My specialty ranges from, but not limited to: depression, anxiety, mood disorders, emotional and sexual abuse, trauma awareness (PTSD), grief, and I am a LGBTQ friendly therapist.
I am a coffee lover. In my free time I enjoy walking my dogs, playing golf, shopping, and spending time with my family.
“Our entire life – consists ultimately of accepting ourselves as we are”
