Counselor Lindsey Russett

My journey in counseling spans about 9 years ago and I have worked in a variety of settings, including domestic violence shelters, residential, school based, community mental health, crisis and trauma work, and more traditional therapy settings using a variety of theoretical techniques.
My areas of specialty include, but are not limited to: PTSD, trauma, anxiety, depression, adjustment disorders, diversion treatment services for children and adolescents, foster care, and resource building.
Before working as a counselor, I engaged in volunteer work as a hotline and childcare worker at a domestic violence shelter, as well as participating in an Animal Therapy Program at my local animal shelter, focused on human-animal connection.
You can expect in my therapeutic skillset with a variation of a Cognitive Behavioral Therapy, Person Centered, Solution Focused, and Expressive therapeutic lens. I am passionate about conceptualizing personal stories and journeys, establishing individualized treatment and utilizing your “voice and choice,” promoting empowerment and autonomy to guide reaching your treatment goals.
Some of my values as a therapist include transparency, compassion, strength based, collaboration in therapeutic alliance, empathy, unconditional positive regard, and empowerment.
