Licensed in mental health and substance use disorders. Extensive experience in both fields and have provided support to individuals struggling with co-occurring disorders and family members of individuals struggling with mental health and substance use. Specialties include working with those that have trauma, bipolar disorder, substance use disorders, anxiety, depression, adjustment disorders, psychotic disorders and borderline personality disorder.
Previous experience include residential mental health and substance use disorder treatment (combined and separate) and outpatient therapy for mental health and substance use disorder (combined and separate). I have worked in various settings including the jail, in the community, in shelters and in schools. I have great understanding of community resources available to support individuals in their recovery. I have extensive experience supporting individuals in their recovery goals and supporting teams as I have previously served as a clinical supervisor and a director for different organizations that serve individuals struggling with mental health and substance use.
I am strengths-based and believe that people recover from their strengths not their deficits. Often, people just need a little extra support to remember their strengths and develop and plan of action. My therapeutic orientation is eclectic but I have strong background in behaviorism. I use cognitive behavioral therapy and dialectical behavioral therapy primarily in my practice but delve into a range of other therapies depending on the needs of the individual.
My hobbies include gardening, snowboarding, camping and running around frantically with my husband and children. I understand how challenging it can be to find balance in life and am here to help you find balance in yours.
