Hello, my name is Cheryl and I am a counselor who has diverse experience helping individuals with trauma, anxiety, depression and in building healthy relationships. I specialize in helping individuals with trauma recovery, post-traumatic stress, suicidal ideation, depression, grief and loss and survivors of abuse.
In addition to private practice I have also worked in crisis based services with individuals experiencing significant challenges and needs for support.
I specialize in EMDR therapy to treat clients with trauma histories. I also use treatment approaches such as DBT, CBT, and art therapy that provide flexibility in helping clients of varying ages, developmental abilities, and needs.
I use a strength and client-focused approach to meet individuals where they are at and to build upon their goals and objectives in treatment. I do this by being transparent in my practices and by regularly checking in on the individual’s perspective of what is working in treatment and what adjustments may need to be made. I value the therapeutic relationship and building rapport with my clients. I encourage honest, open communication within a judgment-free environment. I believe that every client has the motivation and potential for change, healing and to achieve their goals.
I thank you for your consideration and welcome you to contact me to further discuss your goals and needs.
